2023-12 Christmas in Brisbane
For a complete change, we decided to spend Christmas in the Stamford Plaza in Brisbane. We were lucky because the weather in Brisbane was far better than it was in Kalorama and so we were able to wander around the parks and gardens and see many birds and animals. Web gallery ZoneramaHTML gallery: 1

Our dear Japanese friends, Noriko and Naoto Yagi came to stay. It was the first time that Noriko had been to Kalorama and we were all looking forward to a relaxing time and so we stayed local. Here are some shots of our activities, mostly nature and wildlife focused, in and around Kalorama. Web gallery…

2023-10 Marysville
We planned to head up to Marysville for Hazel’s birthday and to do some hiking but the weather forecast was terrible and so we cancelled. The forecast was accurate, and we were glad not to have gone. The following week, the forecast was great and so we rebooked and headed up. The weather was fantastic,…

2023-06 The Kimberley

Yet again, we headed off to Yarrawonga, a place that keeps drawing us back because it has plenty of bird life and is so very different from Kalorama. On the way, we dropped in at Warby Ovens National Park and climbed Chick Hill. It is quite a challenging climb being very rocky and steep. One…

In the middle of January it was the Great Australian Beer Festival again in Geelong. We were kindly invited to stay again with Allan and Lorelle and so we headed down to Geelong via the Mornington Peninsula and the Sorrento to Queenscliff ferry to avoid the city traffic. Whilst down that way, we decided to…

2022 Highlights
We began the year by taking several local day trips to take advantage of not being locked down and to get away from our still badly damaged mountain following the June 2021 storm. We saw lots of wildlife, took many photos and back at home Hazel’s veggie garden showered us with produce. In March we…
